State Fair Recipes: Crock Pot Pulled Pork
Hi! Did you know each year for the last 4 years Farmboy and I have done a cooking demo at the South Carolina State Fair?? The boy really looks forward to it each year and sharing about our farm. We did this year's demo last night! So I thought I would share the recipes with all of you this week! For the next 5 days in addition to our Farming & Family feature you will also get a Pork Recipe! How great is that!!
So what did we make?? We did Crockpot Pulled Pork and 4 ways to use up the leftovers!!
CrockPot Pulled Pork
Ingredients
2-3 lbs. boneless pork roast (I used sirloin)
3/4 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1-2 cups of water
Directions
For a milder flavor place the roast in the crock and sprinkle the seasonings over the top. Then add water.
For a bolder flavor mix all the seasonings together in a small bowl and then rub down the roast being sure to get in all the nooks and crannies, place into crock. Then you can sprinkle the remaining seasoning over the top and add water.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours. Be sure to check the roast occasionally. Once the pork is really tender, cut off the crock pot and remove the roast. Using two forks pull the roast apart.
You can serve on buns with BBQ sauce or use in one of our other fun dishes.

Until we meet again....may God bless you and keep you!
