Life has been busy around the farm.

There are cows to milk,

show lambs to work with,

hay to bale,

and work to be done.

The boys have been working their lambs every chance they get...which lately hasn't been often.

Even the baby can walk one of the lambs.

Wyatt's taken up with this calf...he claims he's the calf's favorite person.

These 2 have decided our small garden is their kitchen.

And the baby is loving feed time...mainly because he steals some feed

But apparently that is exhausting.  

Last Saturday the local Young Farmers & Ranchers group hosted the 1st Annual Sara Ann Comer

#Run4Agriculture!  We had great participation and were overwhelmed with the support of our wonderful community!!

Right at 200 folks registered to participate.

We were very happy to do something for this wonderful family whom we all love very much!

As a mom I was super proud of this kid!  He had been back and forth since the beginning on if he was running or not.  He decided yes and finished in 43 minutes and some change.  He said he wasn't running for Ag but for Sara Ann...to me that's perfectly OK.  

Needless to say the boys were worn out afterwards.

 Monday night started one of the craziest and awesome weeks of the year.

VBS or Vacation Bible School.  

This young man's face says it all!

I am so thankful that in our tiny church we have almost 50 people volunteering to help bring the word of God to our community children.  

Needless to say the last week (or ten) have been extremely busy.

Oh my how you blink your eyes and your baby goes from

This sweet little guy you are bringing home from the hospital.  

To this...

A 6 year old who has mastered opening gates of all kinds!

Last weekend we had to find a few cows and calves who had wandered off.  

They had gone in search of greener pastures...

not really these 3 mama cows just like to test fence lines.  

On that adventure I learned a few things about these 2 farmboys of ours.  

1. Wyatt can now open every gate on the farm.

3. Wyatt is in his element when he is surround by cows.

and 4. He loves to check calves, especially that bald face one ;)

Fast forward a few days.  

My oldest child has not only started kindergarten 

But now is heading out for his last day!!

As goofy as ever I might add!

His school had a Kindergarten Graduation

Complete with singing

Awards

and diplomas

It was wonderful, but bittersweet

The graduate was excited 

He got some brotherly love

some Momma love

and Daddy love.

After 180 days he finally let me get a picture of him with his teachers

We couldn't have asked for a better Kindergarten experience for Wyatt.  

Mrs. Knight & Mrs. Whitesides were amazing.  

They were kind and loving 

while providing the guidance and structure that Wyatt needed to achieve.  

Is now this little slugger...

Can't wait to see what the next adventure will bring in the life of this young man.

So spring has finally arrived.  As I type this we are enjoying 80+ temperatures and sunshine!

With spring & April comes turkey season.  

If you follow me on Instagram you may have realized we have a couple of 

rather large flocks of them wandering around the farm.

The farm baby loves to help with evening chores and the great weather makes it even more fun!

We are able to walk most evenings to feed and check cows.

The Farm Boy is still stuck in winter some days but only because he loves his vest!

The calves are growing fast!

And today is special...well at least to me.  It's not anyone's birthday but... 

The Farmer & I started dating 12 years ago today...

I suppose really this is just the official date we agreed that yeah we were a couple

but still it's pretty special to me.  

God blessed me with a strong man who is willing to anchor me, support me, and love me unconditionally.  

A man who is an amazing role model for our 2 boys.  

BTW the Farmer loves to have his picture taken can't you tell!

"The Farm Wife"

Farming is a hard and dirty job...that sometimes requires lots of baths

especially when you are short and cows spatter you in the milk line...

poor Waylon :(

Sometimes in farming we are blessed to be able to share the life cycle of farm animals with

children.  This year thanks to a grant we will be sharing the life cycle of Chickens with kindergartners 

and videoing eggs hatching.  

These little guys are what the kids above are holding.  They were excited to get their hands on really baby chick.  These chicks will be relocating to another farm this weekend.  Wyatt gets his 4-H set in April. 

This is what happens to a farm wife that works in an office 8-5 and then gets sent to do barn chores 

without a chance to change...poopy Toms aren't cute!

And then the cows stare at you because they are use to entirely different outfits than your office garb

And farm babies like to drive tractors starting VERY early in life!

And sometimes farm kids get all cleaned up and go to school dances!

This is Wyatt's 1st school dance...yes in Kindergarten! 

So there you have some glimpses into our farm life over the last 2 weeks.
