National Farmers Day

Today is National Farmers Day!

Yay a whole day to celebrate my Farmer!!

Be sure to take a moment and thank a farmer for all they do for each of us.

Each farmer I know gives more of themselves each day.

They love their families and farms.

Sometimes as a farmwife it's hard to see what order that comes in...

So say a little prayer for the farmers and their families today.

My Farmer went to college. He has a degree in Agriculture Education, however his greatest lessons weren't found in books or from professors but from the farmers that came before him. We are so thankful for the influence that the man above had in our life. Not only from a farming perspective but life in general. Sadly today has been one year since we laid our precious PawPaw to rest. There's not a day that goes by that we don't think about him. The Farm boys still talk about him all the time.

Every time "He Walked On Water" plays in my playlist I get a little teary eyed knowing that the relationship described in that song is a perfect to parallel to Farmboy and PawPaw. In case you don't know what song I'm talking about...you can check it out here

The Christmas season is upon us. Everywhere you look you see things that make many people happy and joyful, however things don't bring just but temporary joy.

Knowing Christ is the only thing that can bring the ultimate joy.

Do you know the Lord?

Have you gotten off the path?

It's easy to get back to Him...

and it all starts with prayer.

Praying for you and your family this Christmas season that y'all may know the ultimate Joy of accepting Christ into your hearts.

We firmly believe that we aren't raising little boys...

we are working hard to raise men.

Men who love the Lord with all their heart,

men who know the value of hard work.

So if you see us expecting more our of our boys then you think we should...

cause they are just little boys...

remember we are raising men...not boys.

It's important to us to set priorities. In doing so it helps to put life into perspective.

Our family priorities mirror that of the Farmer

2. Family

3. Farming

Everything else is just extra God has blessed us with!

MyFarmer: When the work is done

"When the Work is Done"

Supper at our house isn't at a set hour. Our goal is to eat together as many nights of the week as possible. To do that we have to be flexible, because the Farmer's job doesn't end at 5 or even dark. His day's worth of work is done when every animal has been cared for, everything that can be fixed is fixed and the last field is checked. In 9 + years of marriage I can't tell you a day that he was off before 7 excluding the birth of our children.

MyFarmer: 10 Generations

10 generations

Being the 10th generation of both families to be involved in production agriculture, we value our history. That history includes the land we farm. If we desire to have the 11th generation join us on the farm then we must do our best to improve our resources not deplete them.
